Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in based on Harry’s second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry’s year begins with a shaky start even before he goes back to school.

On his birthday, he receives awkward and disturbing warnings from a loyal house elf named Dobby. Dobby tells Harry that he must not return to school that year as there is a plan to make horrible and evil things happen. Unfortunately, Harry faces the harsh consequences for refusing to listen to Dobby. Dobby’s predictions come true, and students are found in corridors, immobile, as if turned to rock.

In his sinister second year at Hogwarts, he narrowly avoids expulsion from the school and gets caught in places that are forbidden to students. Other than the terrible mishaps that occur at his school, Harry’s rivalry with Draco Malfoy (a spoiled boy and Harry’s arch enemy) reaches an all- time high. Harry starts to hear whispers coming from inside of the walls. The Chamber of Secrets is a chamber said to be built beneath the school by Salazar Slytherin, a dark wizard and one of the four founders of Hogwarts, without anyone else knowing. Will Harry be able make it through his school year alive?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fascinating book. It kept me hooked with the mystery included in it. I would recommend this captivating, spellbinding book to anyone over 8 years old who likes fantasy books. I give this book 5 stars!
